Allegiance Elite….apparently the name says it all !

loyalty or devotion to some person, group, cause, or the like.

e•lite 
the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons,
persons of the highest class: (“Only the elite were there”).

Apparently, we picked the right name.  They came from Edmonton and north of Fort McMurray.  They came just hours before they were leaving on vacation for Las Vegas.  They marched with other corps.  They are now school principals, music teachers, musicians, engineers, lawyers, etc., etc.  What can we say…?  How about ??  They are ALL now members of the NEW Allegiance Elite ! Apparently, they all know something you don’t !?!?  Why ?  Because they had the good sense to show up and check things out !

What a night !  Lots of hand shakes and hugs all around.  Some new faces… some old faces.  But in the end…. a whole lot of people saying  “WOW !”

The festivities started with the drum line performing a few solos.  This was followed by a video presentation (on an 8’ screen) of their recent 2nd place finish (behind the current and 3 time DCA Percussion Ensemble Champions) at the I & E competition in Hamilton, Ontario.  Next, everyone heard what the new “All-Age” Allegiance Elite will have to offer.  To help show everyone what is available, Executive Director, Gerry Hemsley presented videos from the recent 2008 DCA All-Age Championships. 

Here were some of the comments:

“Unbelievable…where do I sign ?” (Trevor Florendine)

Unanimous decision…. “All Age” is a winner !

Gerry also gave a preview of some other exciting news before the evening wrapped up.
